Chalk

Custom — Vacuum & powder (8 steps)

Sidewalk chalk is a great outdoor pastime for the whole family, but it leaves behind a dusty mess. Use these steps to remove chalk residue from your floors.

Steps

  1. Vacuum up as much as you can.
  2. Loosen whatever’s left by tapping the spot with a scrub brush or toothbrush. Tap — don’t scrub.
  3. Vacuum again.
  4. Apply a dry powder cleaner (see Cleaning Solutions).
  5. Tap with a brush to press the powder down into the carpet pile. Don’t scrub.
  6. Let the powder sit for an hour.
  7. Vacuum.
  8. If needed, repeat the dry powder treatment.
