Nail Polish

Custom — Polish remover (3 steps)

Nail polish is an unusual spill that calls for a special approach. Use these steps to lift even the boldest shades out of your carpet.

Steps

  1. Dab non-oily nail polish remover onto the mess with a cotton swab — don’t let it soak all the way down to the backing.
  2. Lift the dissolved material away using a clean white paper towel, pushing from the outside toward the middle of the spill so it won’t spread.
  3. Repeat the softening and lifting, taking off one layer at a time. Rushing can smear the stain or harm the carpet fibers.

Important:Not every carpet fiber responds the same way to stain treatments. Before trying any of the methods above, check with your fiber manufacturer for their recommended care guidelines — skipping this step could void your warranty. For more information, contact your local First Floors store.
