Procedure A — Liquid (7 steps)A dried-out pet urine stain can look like it’s there to stay. Don’t give up — these steps will get your carpet clean and your home smelling fresh again.
Procedure A — Liquid (7 steps)
- Scrape or blot up any excess.
- Apply detergent solution (see Cleaning Solutions) with a damp towel and let it sit for 3–5 minutes.
- Blot — don’t rub.
- Apply undiluted white vinegar with a damp towel.
- Blot — don’t rub.
- Apply water with a damp sponge.
- Blot again. Finish by weighting down a half-inch-thick pad of white paper towels over the spot to draw out remaining moisture. Leave overnight if needed.
Important:Not every carpet fiber responds the same way to stain treatments. Before trying any of the methods above, check with your fiber manufacturer for their recommended care guidelines — skipping this step could void your warranty. For more information, contact your local First Floors store.
